Jobin C Tharian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, Sacred Heart college, Thevara, since 2013. He is from a rural village in Ernakulam district called Piravom.

He is basically an admirer of biodiversity and was concentrating his research in taxonomy and systematics. He has research experience with University of Madras and KUFOS. He has teaching experience of more than 11 years and was associated with, Mahrajas College Ernakulam, St. Berchmans college Changanacherry, K E college Mannanam.

He is now concentrating on conservation studies of fauna especially in Western Ghats. He is also a life member of Linnean Society London and also is a Systematic Research Fellowship (SRF) winner from Linnean society.
